The Mediation Process
What to expect
Mediation begins when one of the parties contacts TLPK regarding a conflict or situation they would like support in resolving.
After an initial conversation, the other party is contacted and invited to participate voluntarily in the mediation process. If both parties agree to proceed, a first session is scheduled.
Sessions take place in person at the TLPK office in De Pijp, Amsterdam, or online where appropriate. Flexible meeting hours outside of office hours are possible to be arranged.
At the beginning of the process, the structure, expectations and confidentiality of the mediation are explained and agreed upon by all parties. The role of the mediator is to guide the process, maintain structure and support balanced and constructive dialogue between the parties.
The parties themselves remain responsible for the content of the conversation, the decisions made and any agreements reached.
Depending on the complexity of the situation, mediation may consist of a single extended session or several meetings over time.Mediation is confidential and participation remains voluntary throughout the process.
Where appropriate, the process may result in the development of clear and binding agreements between the parties, formalized in a written document signed by all parties outlining the agreed terms and arrangements.
Fees
Mediation sessions are billed at €120 per hour (excluding VAT), generally shared equally between the parties.
The total number of sessions and hours required depends on the complexity of the situation and the progress achieved during the mediation process.
